In short: we only collect what we need to take your order, deliver it, keep our accounts and (if you say yes) send you news and offers. We never sell your information. You can ask to see, correct or delete it at any time.

Who we are

What we collect

Order details: your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, what you bought, and any notes you add (for example a balloon collection time or a gift message).
Payment: payments are processed securely by our payment providers (such as Shopify Payments, Shop Pay and PayPal). We don't see or store your full card details.
Your account: if you create one, your login details and order history.
Messages: anything you send us by email, WhatsApp, social media or our website forms.
Marketing choices: whether you've agreed to hear from us.
Website use: information about your device and how you use our website, collected with cookies (see below).

How we use it, and why we're allowed to

To take, deliver and support your order, including collection reminders, tracking and returns. This is needed to carry out our contract with you.
To keep accounts and tax records, as the law requires.
To keep our website and payments safe, prevent fraud and improve our website. These are our legitimate interests.
To send you news and offers by email, only if you've agreed. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
To show you relevant adverts on other websites and social media, only if you've accepted marketing cookies.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share only what's needed with companies that help us run the shop:

Shopify, which hosts our website, checkout and customer emails.
Payment providers such as Shopify Payments, Shop Pay and PayPal.
Delivery companies such as Evri, Royal Mail and DPD, so they can deliver your parcel.
Apps that power features of our website, for example product options, stock notifications and reviews.
Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok, for adverts and website statistics, only if you've accepted those cookies.
Our accountants, and authorities such as HMRC when the law requires it.

Some of these companies store information outside the UK. When they do, they use the legal safeguards UK data protection law requires.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that help our website work, remember your basket and choices, and (with your permission) measure visits and show relevant adverts. When you first visit, you can accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time from the cookie banner or in your browser settings. Essential cookies, such as the ones that keep your basket working, are always on.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records: 6 years, for tax and accounting.
Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe.
Messages: as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
Your account: until you ask us to close it.

Your rights

You can ask us to: give you a copy of the information we hold about you; correct anything that's wrong; delete your information (unless we have to keep it, for example for tax); stop or restrict how we use it; or send it to you or another company. You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. Just email info@sweetsnthings.co.uk. We'll reply within one month.

Children

Our website is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us and we'll put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
